Mike Venable is a Supervisor with MCM’s Assurance Services Team working
with Power and Utility, Insurance, Health Care, Manufacturing, Retail, E-
Commerce, and Public Sector companies. Mike has more than seven years
of accounting, auditing and consulting experience within the following areas:
internal audit, risk advisory, data analytics, financial audits, operational
assessments, Sarbanes-Oxley implementation, process reengineering, and
training development, deployment and facilitation. Mike has extensive
experience developing data analytic integrated internal audit applications
focusing on key business processes (e.g. procurement, time and expense,
procure to pay, order to cash, etc.).
Prior to joining MCM, Mike worked at a Big Four accounting firm as part of
the Subject Matter Professional Team focused on data analytics enabled
internal audit engagement delivery and co-source internal audit delivery,
strategic implementation of a data analytics function in an Organizations
Internal Audit Function, and process reengineering and automation. He
specializes in data analytics, Computer Aided Auditing Techniques (CAAT)
and identification of automation and data analytics integration opportunities
using various tools including IDEA, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel,
Alteryx, Qlikview and Tableau.
Mike’s approach integrates effective project management and Six Sigma
concepts with data analytics, benchmarking, surveys and substantive testing
to evaluate business problems and identify opportunities to improve
effectiveness and efficiency. This combination of disciplines is an asset to his
teams and provides value to the business.
