President's Message

A Message from Paul Bissmeyer, Chapter President

My name is Paul Bissmeyer and I am honored to serve as President of the Cincinnati North Chapter for the 2019 – 2020 year. Although the chapter name is “Cincinnati North”, the chapter services the entire greater Cincinnati area as well as Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana. The chapter is about to embark on its 43rd year and is stronger than ever as we continue to provide a vast array of continuing professional education and networking opportunities.

One of the main objectives of the Board of Directors for the chapter is to continue to work towards increasing our membership and encouraging more members to attend our meetings. The chapter board meets throughout the summer months in preparation for our regular meetings which start in September 2019 and conclude in May of 2020. We are finalizing the process of acquiring speakers that will discuss timely topics of interest that concern accounting and finance professionals across all types of businesses. We welcome your ideas for topics and speakers. While the final calendar of events has not been finalized at this point, we have determined that we will again provide an opportunity to earn the CMA required two hours of Ethics CPE at the December meeting (for all you procrastinators out there). We will also continue our efforts to connect with the next generation of management accounts by having our “Student Night” meeting in April at either the University of Cincinnati or Xavier University campus. Chapter meetings typically are scheduled for the third Wednesday of the month.

As the meetings are confirmed, the chapter website will be updated with the appropriate information in the Chapter Events section under the Events & Education dropdown. You will have the option to pay for an event with PayPal or a debit/credit card through the website or you can pay at the door. The website also provides access to the current newsletter as well as past issues.

Please let me know if you have any ideas on speakers, meeting topics or meeting venues. Also let me know if you would be interested in participating on the chapter board – we could always use new ideas and perspectives.

Looking forward to a great year!

Paul L. Bissmeyer, CMA, CPA
